Our Story

I took my first sip of coffee at a young age with my cousins and grandfather as we headed to work for the summer. At the time, I wasn't sure what I was drinking. I didn't understand the taste or what made coffee special.

As I grew older and began to learn more about coffee, I started to see it differently. I discovered that coffee, much like nature, has its own character, complexity, and story. The more I learned about where it came from, how it was cultivated, and the craftsmanship behind each cup, the more I came to appreciate it.

That appreciation evolved into a deeper admiration for things that are refined, authentic, and beautifully crafted. I came to believe that purity is the truest form of luxury—that the finest things do not need to be excessive; they simply need to be genuine.

Nature has always been an important part of my life, and one simple truth became the inspiration behind Root and Reserve: nothing grows without roots. Every exceptional coffee and tea has a story rooted in its land, its people, its traditions, and the hands that carefully cultivate it.

Root and Reserve was created to bring that story to life. We seek out exceptional coffees and teas not only for their remarkable taste and quality, but for the history and culture behind them. Every origin has something to teach us, from the soil where it grows to the traditions that have shaped how it is prepared and enjoyed.
